The Core i9-10900K doesn't offer any more performance in games at stock speed and even when massively overclocked isn't worth the extra cash and nothing Intel has can match it in Wolfenstein Youngblood either. In fact I'd go as far as saying the Ryzen 7 5800X is a good upgrade from the Ryzen 7 3800X too, especially if you have a powerful graphics card and like to game at high frame rates. It's fairly clear, then, that AMD has a winner on its hands with the Ryzen 7 5800X given it massively outperforms the Ryzen 7 3800X at nearly every turn, offering huge gains in games and content creation. If anything, AMD has understated the performance gains on offer from its Zen 3 CPUs, or at the very least, enthusiasts like myself weren't expecting such huge increases. Core i9-10900K: Is Intel Finally Beaten? By Antony Leatherįinally, power consumption and the test system drew just 237W under load at stock speed, which is nearly 100W less than the Core i9-10900K and on par with the Ryzen 7 3800X despite offering huge performance advantages across the board. The overclocks for the other CPUs I've listed are: I overclock each processor where possible so enthusiasts can see how much extra performance they can gain from doing this and you can see these results in the graphs.
